Henna is in powder form, which is the result of crushing the dry leaves of Henna (Plant Lawsonia). There are several henna powder products on the market. Some only have Henna in them and some contain extra ingredients to change the color and improve the result.
Black Rose Kali Mehndi doesn’t just contain henna powder. With natural henna, it contains barium peroxide, citric acid and PPD. PPD is considered harmful if the quantity exceeds 6% (standard set by the European Union). But Black Rose henna contains less than 3% PPD, which means it has no harmful effect on the hair. PPD and other ingredients are added to make the color black.
